For Noah, his family was special

Noah believed in God and surely his wife and sons did also. At some point his sons had married and their wives either were or became believers in God. They were married before the ark was built and believed in what God has said to Noah. Noah's wife, three sons and their wives were the only ones to help build the ark.

God said to Noah, “The end of all flesh has come before Me"
Genesis 6:13-15
Genesis 6:13-15

13 And God said to Noah, “The end of all flesh has come before Me, for the earth is filled with violence through them; and behold, I will destroy them with the earth. 14 Make yourself an ark of gopherwood; make rooms in the ark, and cover it inside and outside with pitch.
15 And this is how you shall make it:

No one else believed in the message of God
Matthew 24:38-39
Matthew 24:38-39

38 For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark,
39 and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.

Noah and his family’s salvation in the ark points to the salvation that has come in Jesus. Jesus is the “ark” of salvation, the one in whom we must trust to be saved from the judgment of God. As there was one door to enter the ark, there is only one door, Jesus, to enter salvation.
John 10:9
John 10:9

I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture.

Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

Noah was a preacher of righteousness by the spirit. By the Holy Spirit, Noah preached to the people then as Jesus preached to the people when he was here as well as today.
1 Peter 1:10-11
1 Peter 1:10-11

10 Of this salvation the prophets have inquired and searched carefully, who prophesied of the grace that would come to you,
11 searching what, or what manner of time, the Spirit of Christ who was in them was indicating when He testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ and the glories that would follow.

If we believe in GOD and fear Him, we must build a safe place for our family, for our children and future generation as Noah did. GOD looks for the heart of the righteous and repented. Today, that would be obedience to the gospel of Christ for you and your family. Make sure you are in the count of the few that may be saved.
1 Peter 3:18-19
1 Peter 3:18-19

18 For Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive by the Spirit,
19 by whom also He went and preached to the spirits in prison,

Our Hope is that GOD will give you the opportunity to escape the snare of the devil, having been taken captive by him to do his will. It is he who doesn't want you to be baptized and to be saved, like that family of eight.

2 Timothy 2:25-26

Compare the days of Noah with today

God is serious about his words. In the days of Noah, God made it clear that if they did not believe, they would be destroyed.

The New Testament reveals what God tells us to do today to be saved but few will believe and do it. Jesus reminds us that the people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage and were totally oblivious to the coming judgment of God. There was no awareness that the judgment of God was about to fall upon them, just "business as usual". They did not realize anything was wrong until Noah went into the ark and the rain began to fall. Then He says "so also will the coming of the Son of Man be".

People today do not realize that, like the flood in Noah's time, there is a judgment of God coming.
2 Peter 2:4-9
2 Peter 2:4-9

4 For if God did not spare the angels who sinned, but cast them down to hell and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved for judgment;
5 and did not spare the ancient world, but saved Noah, one of eight people, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood on the world of the ungodly;
...
9 then the Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations and to reserve the unjust under punishment for the day of judgment,

The Apostle Peter tells us that Noah and his family (eight people) were saved from the destructive waters of the flood in the ark. He also makes the point that the flood of Noah’s day is a 'type' for the salvation that comes to us in Jesus Christ, the 'antitype' of baptism that now saves us.
