People start to fear many things we see on TV, radio or on the internet.
A new epidemic has alerted many countries and people are beginning to fear what it can be.
Afraid of getting the virus.
Let's be alert but do not live in fear.
Fear is an unpleasant emotion caused by the belief that someone or something is dangerous, likely to cause pain, or a threat.
Are you afraid of something at this moment?
Do you know that fear is sometimes necessary?
It helps us escape from threats, it activates the adrenaline in our body, helps us to stay alert.
I.- GOD uses this tool on many occasions.
To free Israel from threat, and defeat their enemies.
NKJ Exodus 23:27
"I will send My fear before you, I will cause confusion among all the people
to whom you come, and will make all your enemies turn their backs to you.
Terror or fear coming from a miracle or a sign.
To punish them for their sins and disobedience.
NKJ Leviticus 26: 16
I also will do this to you: I will even appoint terror over you, wasting
disease and fever which shall consume the eyes and cause sorrow of heart.
And you shall sow your seed in vain, for your enemies shall eat it.
Panic, alarm, to be disturbed, to be troubled, or to be suddenly terrified,
II.- There is another kind of fear we need to learn about.
NKJ Jonah 1:9
So he said to them, "I am a Hebrew; and I fear the LORD, the God of heaven, who made the sea and the dry land."
Fear GOD and keep His commandments. Deuteronomy 6:24
NKJ Ecclesiastes 12: 13-14
13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God and keep His commandments, For this is man's all.
14 For God will bring every work into judgment, Including every secret thing, Whether good or evil.
III.- Jesus teaches us to who we should fear.
Fear GOD and do not fear man.
NKJ Matthew 10:28
"And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul.
But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
If we are living in Christ we need to be perfected in his love.
NKJ 1 John 4:18
NKJ Philippians 4:6
There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment.
But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.
Many things can happen to us in this life, but we can not be living in fear.
Let us live with faith in the promises of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Be sure that your fear is only in our Father GOD and a reverent obedience.
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication,
with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;
